2023 Beijing Contemporary Art Fair
Gallery OM, in collaboration with Crossing Art, is honored to announce its participation in the 2023 Beijing Contemporary Art Fair at Booth B17, featuring recent works by eleven artists. Among these, Crossing Art's seven international artists invariably delve deep into culture to seek both locality and contemporaneity, while Gallery OM's(previously Object Momento) four emerging artists embark on their artistic journeys from individual experiences, using either concise or ethereal strokes and lines to construct a utopian artistic world. Together, they are exhibited side by side, presenting a dialogue between artists from East and West, as well as two different generations.
The theme of this exhibition at Booth B17 is "Harmonies of Sound," as seen in the works of artists such as Qin Feng, Bruce Rubenstein, Damien Hirst, and Zhuo Xiong, which explore the rhythms sparked by the relationships between tradition, humanity, society, and the individual. The concept of "Harmonies of Sound" originates from "Wen Xin Diao Long," where it is said, "When Liu Zong observes the grain, the rhythm is in human voice, and the voice touches people's hearts." Only through "inner listening," deep contemplation within oneself, can one harmonize nature and reality while maintaining a certain elasticity, thus achieving poetic harmonies of sound. The artworks of the participating artists in this exhibition align with this characteristic, weaving together societal realities and introspective reflections, creating their own artistic contexts that depict the overlap of history and the present.
